OldFashiond is a premium dating platform dedicated to people aged 40 and over, where honesty, respect, and confidentiality are at the heart of every connection. Our team developed the intelligent matching backend that powers this unique experience.

The system analyzes user profiles and their answers to an in-depth questionnaire covering 5 key themes: age difference, lifestyle, interests, values, and type of relationship sought.

Our technical expertise

This project highlights our know-how in backend development, data processing, and intelligent matching systems:

• Backend infrastructure: Robust architecture managing batch processing and data pipelines to analyze thousands of profiles efficiently
• Vector embeddings: Transformation of profiles and responses into vector representations to capture semantic and linguistic nuances (French, English, Dutch)
• Multi-factor compatibility algorithms: Geographic location, multiple question types with weighting and conditional logic. Our algorithms analyze the multiple facets of responses to identify real compatibilities

A hybrid Human-AI process

The originality of OldFashiond lies in its hybrid approach: AI proposes potential matches with compatibility scores, then the OldFashiond team manually validates each proposal. This double verification guarantees quality connections, avoiding false positives and ensuring a truly premium service.

Collaboration with Apik

The platform’s frontend was created by Apik, a Belgian web & e-commerce agency. This collaboration allowed combining an elegant and intuitive user interface with a robust and intelligent backend to offer a consistent and premium experience.
